Donald Trump on Steve Deace Show

On Tuesday night, Donald Trump was on the Steve Deace show.  Steve asked him questions he’s “never been asked before” like: Who is the real Donald Trump?  Why are you going to Iowa to speak to the “God Squad?” and many more.

For 19 fascinating minutes, two alpha males, one an icon of pop culture, the other one of the most outspoken in Christian media, came together and and, out of mutual concern for country, found some common ground. You’ll want to listen to this!

Father-Son Team of Senator Ted Cruz and Pastor Rafael Cruz Added To Featured Speaker Line Up at The Family Leadership Summit

Urbandale, IOWA – The FAMiLY LEADER, in conjunction with Citizens United, Heritage Action, and The National Organization for Marriage, is pleased to announce the addition of U.S.  Sen. Ted Cruz from Texas and his father, Pastor Rafael Cruz, to the speaker line up at The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT on Saturday, August 10th in Ames, IA.  The Summit will start at 10 a.m. and conclude at 7 p.m.  Tickets will go on sale July 1.

“The work of the Family Leadership Summit to fight for conservative values and promote strong families is making a positive impact across our country,” Sen. Cruz said. “My dad and I are honored to be included in this year’s summit and are looking forward to it.” The purpose of The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT is to educate and mobilize the conservative base regarding worldview application and issues that impact the family.  The Summit will provide Iowans the opportunity to hear top conservative national leaders, gathered in one place, cast their leadership vision.

Ted Cruz was elected as the 34th U.S. Senator from Texas in 2012.  A passionate fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution, Cruz won a decisive victory in both the Republican primary and the general election.  Cruz’s election has been described by The Washington Post as “the biggest upset of 2012…a true grassroots victory against very long odds.”  In the Senate, he currently serves on the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Armed Services; the Committee on the Judiciary; and the Special Committee on Aging.

Pastor Rafael Cruz was born in Cuba and immigrated to this country over 55 years ago to flee an oppressive communist regime.  He fought in the revolution and was imprisoned and tortured.  He fled to Texas penniless and not speaking a word of English.  Today Rafael Cruz is a pastor at a church in Dallas and serves as the Director of Purifying Fire Ministries ministering in the U.S., Mexico, and Central America.  He is also a professor Bible and Theology and the president of Kingdom Translation Services.

Bob Vander Plaats, President & CEO of The FAMiLY LEADER said, “We are thrilled Senator Ted Cruz and his father, Pastor Rafael Cruz, are pairing up together to join the speaker line up for The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT.  Senator Cruz’s bold and principled leadership is a welcome change in our current political climate.  And Pastor Cruz’s bold courage to flee Cuba to come to America thoroughly embodies the spirit of the American Dream.   Iowans are in for a real treat to be able to hear this pair of American heroes.”

Confirmed to speak at the Summit include former Senator Rick Santorum, businessman Donald Trump, and author Dr. Del Tackett.  Invited speakers include Governor Sam Brownback, Governor Bobby Jindal, Governor Rick Perry, Senator Rand Paul, actor/radio host Stephen Baldwin,  Penny Young Nance, Senator Jim DeMint, Senator Marco Rubio along with many others. Additional press releases will be sent as speakers are confirmed.

Former Senator Rick Santorum to Join Speaker Line Up at

The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Urbandale, IOWA – The FAMiLY LEADER, in conjunction with Citizens United, Heritage Action, and The National Organization for Marriage, is pleased to announce the addition of former Senator Rick Santorum to the speaker line up at The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT on Saturday, August 10th in Ames, IA.   The Summit will start at 10 a.m. and conclude at 7 p.m.

The purpose of The FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT is to educate and mobilize the conservative base regarding worldview application and issues that impact the family.  The Summit will provide Iowans the opportunity to hear top conservative national leaders, gathered in one place, cast their leadership vision.

Bob Vander Plaats, President & CEO of The FAMiLY LEADER said, “This year’s theme is ‘Leading with Principles Over Politics,’ and attendees will be encouraged to stay true to their values, no matter what political winds may blow.  We were very blessed last year to have Senator Santorum as a featured speaker at the inaugural Summit, and we are extremely pleased to welcome him back to Iowa for this year’s Summit.  We have asked him to speak about a major threat to American families and the necessary leadership solutions to address that threat.  Santorum is near and dear to Iowans’ hearts and we are thankful he will be a featured speaker at our event.”

Invited speakers include Governor Sam Brownback, Governor Bobby Jindal, Governor Rick Perry, Senator Rand Paul, businessman Donald Trump, actor/radio host Stephen Baldwin, Senator Ted Cruz, Penny Young Nance, Senator Jim DeMint, Senator Marco Rubio along with many others. Additional press releases will be sent as speakers are confirmed.

“I am greatly looking forward to speaking at this year’s FAMiLY LEADERSHIP SUMMIT. This gathering of conservatives provides each of us with an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the path forward as we tackle the moral and cultural challenges facing our country.  The FAMiLY LEADER has provided exceptional leadership on these issues, and I appreciate the opportunity to join them for this year’s summit,” said Rick Santorum.  Senator Santorum will be joining the author and architect of The Truth Project, Dr. Del Tackett.  Dr. Tackett will set the foundation for this Summit by challenging attendees with the question, “Do we really believe that what we believe is really real?

Due to a sold out venue and the expressed enthusiasm for last year’s Leadership Summit, The FAMiLY LEADER has secured Stephens Auditorium in Ames, IA as this year’s venue. Tickets will go on sale July 1 at www.TheFamilyLeadershipSummit.com.

“One of the hopeful outcomes of the Summit is to bring conservatives together early and consistently in the process leading up to the 2016 elections.  We believe that by laying this foundation through an intentional leadership summit, the likelihood for conservatives to coalesce in a spirit of unity for impact and influence in 2014, 2016, and beyond will be greatly enhanced,” said Vander Plaats.

Annual Life, Marriage & Family Rally

LMF-rally_adUnlike the marriage issue, the Senate can’t ignore life!  The Senate is REQUIRED to pass a Health and Human Services (HHS) budget before they adjourn for the summer and get to go home.  If they don’t, the government shuts down on July 1.  Within the HHS budget, is taxpayer money that is given directly to abortion providers.  If 51 pro-life legislators in the House, or 26 in the Senate are strong enough, they can force the removal of funding for abortion providers.  In 2011 and 2012, the pro-lifers in the House caved, and Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers continued to get taxpayer’s hard-earned money.  However, in 2013, we have a fresh batch of strong, pro-life legislators that will lead the charge and protect innocent lives by defunding abortion providers.  This year is our chance, and the innocent children need your help!

Speaker:

Dan Becker, Personhood USA

Schedule:

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

10:30 -11:30 am
Rally in Capitol Rotunda on 1st floor (go up one level from basement entries)
