The Chinese government is allegedly tearing down the largest church building in China, according to The Telegraph. The FAMiLY LEADER brought attention to this story a few weeks ago when the members formed a human chain to protect it. The chain started resolving when negotiations between church leadership and the government seemed to be going a positive direction, but it is reported that they took a very quick turn for the worse, and the government brought in demolition equipment and started tearing the building down.
We in America need to continue to learn from this. Although a building isn’t the Church (capital C), the Chinese government is still persecuting believers, and this public action is meant to be a warning to the people of China to not become Christians.
As believers in America, we aren’t facing this kind of persecution yet, but we can’t sit idly by in our nation. If we aren’t involved in civics, we could very well suffer similar fates as believers in China. Are you involved? If not, maybe you should run for a local office in your city, county, or community. Or maybe you should support organizations like The FAMiLY LEADER, who employ full time staff to lobby for biblical values at the Iowa capitol. Whatever it is, we encourage you to do something!
