The Daniel Impact

First launched and prototyped by The FAMiLY Leader of Iowa in 2015, The Daniel Impact rethinks how we encourage the Church to engage with government. While many national organizations try to recruit the Church for political ends, The Daniel Impact instead joins local churches in the Church’s mission—loving God, loving our neighbors, and sharing the Gospel—within the government arena, deliberately advancing God’s Kingdom, rather than man’s.

This unique, strategic realignment has produced proven results. The Daniel Impact model has torn down walls of political division and suspicion within the Church and built community-blessing partnerships between government and Christian ministries, all while proving even more effective than other national strategies at impacting elections and influencing policymakers toward more righteous policy.

Today, The FAMiLY Leader is strategically exporting this model across the nation through independent, state-based organizations connected through the Family Policy Alliance. The FAMiLY Leader provides each participating state organization with training, mentoring, and shared best practices to help implement the key to the strategy—a Church Ambassador Network—in each state.

A state’s Church Ambassador Network exists to connect the shepherds of the Church (local pastors) with the shepherds of government (governing officials). Pastors are uniquely equipped to point government leaders to Christ, fill the Capitol with the Lord’s teaching, and partner with government leaders to solve problems plaguing our communities.

The model is built on the biblical principle that God has ordained the Church, specifically, as His instrument of cultural transformation—and to the extent we can engage, equip, and empower the local Church to fulfill its mission within the arena of government, we can see that engagement transform government itself.
