The Family Leadership Summit 2014 was a tremendous example of the passion and energy that exists within the Christian conservative movement!
3 national partner organizations,
26 supporting sponsors and exhibitors,
What an amazing day!
None of this would have been possible without your support and word-of-mouth advertising!
We are thrilled with the media coverage of the Summit, here are just a smattering of the articles:
Des Moines Register: GOP politicos stoke conservatives
The Dallas Morning News: Christian conservatives look for candidate to rally around
The Iowa Republican: Cruz Shines Again at Family Leadership Summit
We livestreamed the entire Summit, and you can watch the archived version for just $5! (Note: we had some internet connection problems during Rafael Cruz’s speech for a few minutes)
Here are some highlight photos from the Summit:
Turnout was terrific, and the energy was high!
The stage looked awesome!
Every attendee received a lanyard for the day – so we had stacks and stacks of them!
Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds welcomed everyone, then changed into something more comfortable as they headed to the State Fair!
In the entry area exhibitors set up their booths. During the breaks the exhibit area was a buzz of activity!
Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council, a partner organization along with Citizens United and The FAMiLY LEADER, also shared remarks about why Christians need to be involved in civics.
Many attendees remarked that Senator Tim Scott was a real treat to hear. Many hadn’t heard of him, but were very impressed with what he had to say.
Back by popular request, Pastor Rafael Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz’s father, gave a tremendous presentation.
Here, author Joel Rosenberg pauses for a moment to pray backstage as he is being introduced by Bob Vander Plaats.
Senator Rick Santorum challenged all in attendance to do more than just “pound the President.” Wise counsel, indeed.
It was exciting to hear Texas Rick Perry address the many issues our country faces, and the need for strong leadership.
Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal, who recently issued an executive order in his state to ban Common Core curriculum, addressed the need for better education.
Others shared some fun videos.
Speaking of fun, the Benham brothers were hilarious!
Senator Tim Scott and Dr. Alveda King
…umm, sometimes things get a little “carried away”…
But back to business. After the Summit, while attendees headed home, we held a “press avail” for Cruz, Huckabee, and Jindal. This was an opportunity for the press to ask the speakers questions they might have.
Don’t forget to put August 15 on your calendar for next year!
