In an outrageous ad, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry says,
“..we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children — your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion that these are “our” children. So we’ve got to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents.”
So let me get this straight: Kids shouldn’t belong to their parents?
Then to whom do you suggest, Melissa, they should then belong?
To the “collective?” Looking at the way our schools are getting shot up and how our education is stacking up globally, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to see that happen.
More importantly, the word “collective” is the exact word that the Communist dictators use to get their people to yield ownership of their kids, their property, and every other right. Once the people give up control, then it has to be “redistributed” to others. Guess who gets to do the redistribution? That’s right. It’s whoever is in control of the government.
A friend just sent me this graphic floating around Facebook – very appropriate for the discussion:
The Bible reveals a better design – that parents stay together and are responsible for the growth and wellness of their own children. Not to say that the community can’t be a good support, but they can’t be the ones ultimately responsible. It just works better that way.
This video will make your jaw drop. Watch it for yourself…
