Memorial Day reminds us of the price paid for our freedoms. But the fight is far from over.

BIG IDEA: You and I have some work to do.
1. FREEDOM ISN’T FREE

My father fought to free Iwo Jima in World War II. Years later, I took him to the newly dedicated World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. When I thanked him for his service, he simply repeated, “What a cost.” His has been called “the greatest generation” because they stood in the gap against evil and put the cause above self. We need great Americans again today.

2. THE CULTURE OF LIFE IS WINNING

Planned Parenthood is closing four Iowa clinics, including their only facility that performs clinical abortions. Iowa’s Heartbeat Law is putting the abortion mills out of business. And with over 200 other health centers across the state offering women free or reduced-cost care, we don’t need Planned Parenthood anymore. I look forward to the day when the culture of life eliminates abortions altogether.

3. IT’S TIME TO RALLY TOGETHER … AT THE SUMMIT!

Launched in 2012, the FAMiLY Leadership Summit has become a can’t-miss event for those who care about the future of our nation. This year’s Summit on Friday, July 11 in Des Moines will feature Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, with more speakers to be announced. Join us and be reminded—you’re not alone. You’ll leave encouraged, energized, and full of fresh hope for America.
