SCOTUS Win
This month we saw some exciting news from the U.S. Supreme Court! A majority of the justices voted to uphold a Save Girls’ Sports law like the one we have in Iowa. The Court confirmed what should be common sense—we can legally determine eligibility for women’s and girls’ sports based on biological sex.
Recognizing the distinction between male and female is vitally important to maintain the safety, protect the opportunities, and preserve the integrity of our female athletes. The FAMiLY Leader has been working on this issue for years. In 2022, we supported Iowa’s legislation to ensure that female sports are for females only, and not males who claim to be female. In 2025, we played an integral role in passing Iowa’s Sex & Gender Clarity Act, which acted to protect women in the private sector. Most recently, we signed on to an amicus “friend-of-the court” brief supporting Save Girls’ Sports before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The FAMiLY Leadership Summit – 2026
You have no doubt heard about the incredible FAMiLY Leadership Summit we hosted on July 17. The great speakers and the unveiling of an amazing, record-breaking American flag made it a Summit to remember!
We had the opportunity to share from the Summit stage what we have been working on in the Elections & Policy Department for the past year. We also talked about our vision for the months ahead. Please check out the video of that presentation HERE.
It was an honor to be joined on stage by Iowa Senate Majority Leader Mike Klimesh and Iowa Speaker of the House Pat Grassley. These public servants, both the highest-ranking legislators in their respective chambers, did an incredible job navigating a difficult legislative session in 2026. They also played key roles in passing an impressive list of pro-family legislation. We greatly appreciate their efforts and their willingness to be a part of the Summit!
