Across Texas, we are seeing extraordinary evidence of God’s favor as relationships between pastors and governing officials continue to deepen.
At the core of the Church Ambassador Network is a commitment to being relationally built—moving at the pace of the Holy Spirit and investing intentionally in both church leaders and public servants. This approach goes beyond surface-level interaction. It creates space for authentic, Christ-centered relationships where people share their lives, their burdens, and the motivations behind their call to serve.
As these relationships grow, we are consistently discovering that many leaders in government conceptually recognize the Church as a vital potential partner in addressing real needs across our communities. And for those who may not have seen that connection before, it often becomes clear through introduction—when pastors and ministries demonstrate the tangible impact they are making in areas like disaster relief, education, and family services. Time and again, what begins as a conversation becomes a collaboration rooted in trust and shared purpose.
God has opened remarkable doors across all three branches of government, leading to meaningful ministry opportunities throughout the state. From facilitating conversations between pastors, disaster relief leaders, and Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, to helping establish a regular staff Bible study at the Department of Agriculture at the request of Commissioner Sid Miller, the impact is clear. Pastors have connected with Education Commissioner Mike Morath through regional gatherings, while a Hill Country pastors’ luncheon our team organized following last summer’s floods brought together leaders including then-HHS Commissioner Cecile Young. In the critical area of child welfare and adoption, ongoing partnerships have flourished through relationships with former DFPS Commissioner Stephanie Muth and current Commissioner Audrey O’Neill.
These moments are more than events—they are evidence of a growing openness to the presence and influence of the Church in the public square. As our Church Ambassador Network team and pastors engage faithfully, and governing officials respond with welcome and trust, we are witnessing lives changed and communities strengthened. It is a powerful reminder that when relationships are cultivated and Christ remains at the center, God works in ways that reach far beyond what we could accomplish alone.
